Liquid Luck
by Ainslie Harriman
'Liquid Luck' is a piece born through discovering who I wish to portray in a post-pandemic world. Struggle with identity and how I can contribute to my personal growth were emotions that surfaced during the social isolation of the pandemic. Liquid Luck represents acceptance of self through vibrant colours and bold, seductive facial features. My body is a powerful vessel with force and purpose; my mind is wise and a voice of reason.

Division
'Division' represents how a woman's figure should never be underestimated, even in the simplest form. It is hers to express and only will ever belong to her.
Division, 2021, Oil Pastel
Ainslie Harriman: I am an undergraduate student enrolled in the Arts and Science Program at the University of Guelph. Acrylic painting and sketchpad drawing are my preferred methods of transforming internal thoughts into external visuals. I seek to express women and unapologetic beauty by primarily focussing on how I perceive those around me. Anxious thoughts and doubts as a young woman in the modern social climate influence my passion for creating.
